Lifting our Voices

Created during the Lifting our Voices Conference at Redeemer Rochedale, Qld on the 27 April 2024 & donated to the group.

This artwork was in response to the worship and conversation that happened during the day. Some specific bible verses that inspired this work: Romans 10:13-15 – “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?” & Psalm 51:15 “O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise”, as well as lyrics from the song “Summoned by the God who made us”, specifically from the chorus: Sing a new church into being, One of faith and love and praise.

The stained glass effect of the design evokes church tradition, but recognising that it is a living tradition, a tradition that holds tightly to the Gospel of Christ but that is Spirit breathed and responding to the people of the church.

“Lifting our Voices” calls us to sing together as a community, keeping our eyes on the one who is our hope.
